I read recently that Butterflies remind us that we are always evolving, moving towards change and new opportunities. (nice quote..... huh ? sure.... )
My experience in the business world is that ageing does not bring much opportunity. The wisdom of the ageing does not appear to be transitioned or received graciously . Capturing the pearls of experience and circling it with the ambition of the young should be a focus of acknowledgement with a dignified transition, not hidden to avoid an EEOC charge....what a delicate balance. Respecting the offerings of all ages in today's Society seems to escapes us. Or.....maybe it was never there and I just didn't notice it until I hit 58......Lesson Learned : Native Indians had it right and we came in and destroyed it....I will remain optimistic and make my own opportunities.
